Is something wrong with my oil?
White in winter, clear in summer
Nope, that’s pure coconut oil being itself. It turns white and solid below about 24 °C. Stand the jar in warm water and it’s a clear liquid again, with its quality unaffected. Slide the thermometer and watch:

Good to know
Why has my oil turned white and solid?
That’s what pure coconut oil does below about 24 °C. Stand the closed jar in warm water for a few minutes and it turns back into a clear liquid. Its quality isn’t affected.
Can I cook with it?
Yes, you can. For everyday cooking we make a virgin cold pressed coconut oil in 500 ml and 1 litre bottles and a 5 litre tin, which works out better value.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, with the lid tight.
How is it different from your other coconut oil?
This jar is our extra virgin oil for skin and hair, in glass with its own gift box. The bottles and tin hold our virgin cold pressed coconut oil for the kitchen.
I have sensitive skin. Is it OK?
Try a little on the inside of your arm first, and wait a while before using more.
